Prescription Verification

"Eye Health First"

At KPOP2, we are dedicated to the health and safety of our customers, which is why we adhere to stringent prescription verification practices for all contact lens orders. In compliance with U.S. regulations and to ensure that each customer receives appropriate vision correction products, we require a valid prescription for contact lens purchases. This page outlines our Prescription Verification Policy, detailing the submission process, responsibilities for U.S. customers, and essential information for maintaining safe and effective lens use.

1. The Importance of Prescription Verification

Contact lenses are classified as medical devices and require professional guidance to ensure proper fit, vision correction, and safety. KPOP2 is committed to ensuring that customers only purchase lenses suited to their specific needs, in accordance with all applicable regulations. A verified prescription helps protect against complications such as incorrect lens power, poor fit, or an unsuitable lens type, which can lead to discomfort, eye irritation, or more serious eye health issues.

For customers who do not have a current prescription, we recommend scheduling an eye exam with a licensed eye care professional. U.S. customers can find a licensed optometrist or ophthalmologist through the American Optometric Association (AOA) or the American Academy of Ophthalmology (AAO). These organizations provide directories of certified practitioners to assist in finding reputable eye care providers near you.

2. How to Submit Your Prescription

To comply with our Prescription Verification Policy, we require customers to submit a copy of their valid contact lens prescription at the time of placing an order. U.S. law requires online retailers to verify contact lens prescriptions before fulfilling orders. Here are the ways you can submit your prescription to KPOP2:

  • Email Submission: You may email a scanned copy or a clear photograph of your prescription to our support team at cs@kpop2.com. For faster processing, please include your order number in the email subject line.

Your prescription should include the following information to facilitate verification:

  • Full name of the patient
  • Prescription details, such as power, base curve, diameter, and brand (if specified)
  • Expiration date of the prescription
  • Contact information of the prescribing eye care professional, including their name, phone number, and, if available, an email address

Once we receive your prescription, KPOP2’s verification team will review it to confirm that it is valid and matches the lenses you ordered. Please note that we cannot process or ship your order until a valid prescription has been received and verified.

3. Prescription Expiration and Renewal Requirements

It is essential to maintain a current and valid prescription when purchasing contact lenses. In the United States, federal regulations generally stipulate that contact lens prescriptions are valid for a period of one year unless the prescriber specifies a shorter period for medical reasons. If your prescription has expired, we encourage you to schedule a new eye exam with a licensed optometrist or ophthalmologist before placing an order with KPOP2.

To find a certified eye care professional, U.S. customers may consult resources provided by the American Optometric Association (AOA) or the American Academy of Ophthalmology (AAO). These organizations list practitioners by location, ensuring that you find qualified providers in your area who can issue an updated prescription.

Customers are responsible for tracking the expiration date on their prescription and providing KPOP2 with an updated version if necessary. Orders submitted with expired prescriptions cannot be processed, and we will reach out to you to request a current prescription if one is needed.

4. Verification Process and Potential Order Delays

Once we receive your prescription, KPOP2’s verification team will carefully review it to ensure that it meets the required specifications for your selected contact lenses. In the U.S., the Fairness to Contact Lens Consumers Act (FCLCA) mandates that online retailers verify each prescription with the prescribing eye care provider if the customer has not provided a copy directly. This means we may need to contact your eye care provider to confirm prescription details.

Verification times can vary, particularly if your eye care provider is slow to respond. Under U.S. law, providers are allowed up to eight business hours to respond to verification requests. If your provider does not respond within this timeframe, we are legally permitted to proceed with fulfilling the order. To avoid delays, we recommend that U.S. customers submit their prescription directly to KPOP2 at the time of purchase, as this can significantly speed up the verification process.

If we encounter any issues, such as discrepancies in prescription details or an expired prescription, KPOP2 will contact you via email to resolve the matter. Please monitor your email and respond promptly to any communications to ensure a smooth and timely processing of your order. If we are unable to verify your prescription or reach your eye care provider, we may need to cancel the order and issue a full refund.

KPOP2 is committed to providing clear and timely updates regarding your order status during the verification process and ensuring full compliance with regulatory standards to protect your eye health.

5. Customer Responsibilities

As a customer, you are responsible for ensuring that the prescription details you provide are accurate and up to date. By submitting a prescription, you confirm that the information is accurate and that you have adhered to all legal requirements for purchasing contact lenses in your region.

Using contact lenses without a valid prescription can result in serious eye health complications, including infection, inflammation, and vision loss. KPOP2 reserves the right to deny service to any individual who cannot provide a valid prescription or refuses to comply with our Prescription Verification Policy. We strongly encourage you to follow your eye care professional’s guidance on proper lens care, wearing schedules, and replacement intervals to protect your eye health. KPOP2 disclaims responsibility for any adverse effects resulting from the improper use or neglect of prescribed lens care guidelines.
